Please forgive the mess.
This website is currently undergoing a bit of construction. As updates come, more artwork, game pages, and information will be added. The ultimate goal of this website being to land a publisher or two, hopefully you can forgive me as it builds up.
Why so many games?
The new year has come and I have actually not achieved my goal of obtaining a publisher. I made the promise of no new games and certainly no new massive push towards getting a publisher and I did mean this. While some have said this is me quitting, what they don't realize is how much of a burden this "hobby" has been on me. I work 40 hours a week and then I get hope and work another 30-40 hours a week on game designs. This website stands as a testament over how much I actually accomplished in the span of under 5 years. I mean, think about it. 32 games. Not 33 games that may exist in a notepad file somewhere, 32 games with enough components to actually play and enjoy. Okay, some were shit, many incomplete, but that's a HELL of an achievement and, frankly, I'm proud of it.
What I'm not proud of is simple to understand. I live in a fairly isolated section of America and I have pimped my games hard on all the people I know. I have begged and borrowed every playtester I could get my hands on and I have spent far too many hours, even at the bigger conventions like Origins and Gencon, begging for people to play my game. Simply put, I'm not a social butterfly and it takes a lot out of me to put myself out there and for very little gain. I have a handful of people out there who know my name and have enjoyed my games. I've had publishers ally themselves with my designs only to lose interest later. This exhausted the hell out of me and I'm no closer to a published game (by a publisher) than I was when I started four and a half years ago. So I'm kinda done.
Not done insofar as never working on any of my game designs ever again, more along the lines of done pushing myself so hard for so little. I'm going to relax a little more, revisit old designs and attempt to fix them, and naturally I will continue to try to get a publisher but I'm done walking away from rejection or spending so much of my free time trying to please people who largely don't care. I've accomplshed a lot and have a lot that I'm genuinely proud of so no new games until some older ones get done. If you are a publisher and stumbled across this website, feel free to contact me still as none of my games are "too done" that I won't
make changes or work with you to make a better game. I will also definitely send prototypes of anything you want to see listed on here. I'm just down, not out.
What's New Today?
Newly Added Games
I've stated in the past that I spend far too much time working on these games and, well, for the past 4 years, I've been busy. But just because a logo exists for a game doesn't mean that it's complete or even close to being completed. The purpose of this website is to show off what I've done and possibly even prioritize on what projects need finishing. If it all seems far too intimidating in scope, imagine how I feel organizing all this. This was a massive undertaking and it's great to see the past 4 years in one massive list. It makes me proud of where I've been and where I'm going with this.
Rockin Rollaz is going to change theme a little bit. The gameplay is largely abstracted and the reaction to the Chibi's and special abilities has been tepid at best. So instead, since the game drew some inspiration from the Playstation Classic games Devil's Dice and Intelligent Qube, I will go with a Businessman style theme and name it Outside the Box. The main thing needing to be revamped is simply creating a board, new art, and writing the rules. If this one goes well, an expansion named Human Resources will be developed to reintroduce special abilities.
