Classic Gameplay with a Fresh Twist
I think it would be easier to get people to play this than actual Mahjong...
It hasn't really been all that developed yet.
History of Mahjong Dice
ZOMG! Does this even work? I don't know. It's currently part of a Game Crafter order that I'm awaiting printing from. So what, then, is this fricking game?
The design behind this game comes from two needs I feel should be fulfilled. The first is just from, most of the time whenever I mention a desire to play a game a Mahjong, most gamers aren't even away that it is an actual game and not the Solitaire version. The second need is I want the fun and concept of Mahjong in a simpler to score and variable player version. And, well, I just want to do 40 custom dice again.
The game itself makes sets of Dragons fairly common and a way to shorten the necessary dice to achieve of Mahjong but it comes with a trade-off as, if you lure too many dragons, you will actually lose points. I also wanted a way for the round to end by draws like in Mahjong and the main way I found that to occur is with the Dead Wall symbols. This system, however, also fuels the Flower/Season scoring. And of course, the prevailing wind is also accounted for in this game. If it works, this will essentially be a very brisk variant of Mahjong although, possibly my most expensive on The Game Crafter and sorry, all, there is no way I can make this cheaper.
